Making mistakes

Making a mistake Is not the last thing on earth. Devil hardly makes any! Rather it is divine, When the maker Makes the devil loser... sms based sabbir ahmed osmani

Friends Forever...

After 17 years or so, we met today. It's incredible! Nothing less! I have met one of my childhood friends and her family today. We both lived in Libya for some dreamy days which we still remember with deep fondness. Those were the golden days of life-life in a beautiful oasis of Sahara desert. We were really good friends. I still remember the things we did specially one day, when... we decided to spend and play together. But we wanted to inform everyone that we decided not to include anyone but me and her. And we travelled across the whole neighbourhood to inform others(friends), we are not playing with you(other friends) today! And eventually sun had been set! We finished our play for that day and probably forever! Any way her brother who was a one year old kid, now a young man. And his father( my dad's colleague) and her mother-my mothers favourite have remained all the same persons with that warmness! I really won't forget the eventful reunion day! I am looking for some ...

What is precious on earth?

I prefer to avoid the word most because, sometimes a few hundred bucks, a few solacing words become the most precious thing on earth. But a sensitive heart appears to me a precious thing whenever I think about it. May be every single person with a sensitive and caring heart will not write elegy sitting in a country church yard like that of Thomas Gray. But people lived around the person will always miss the fragrance. Well! Someone may find that person not be worthy enough to be a worldly person. The person may find himself burdened with the gift of sensitivity. But when he will find,he can think for others-others sorrows and happiness, he will understand the difference-the difference between those who only CAN think about themselves and him.

WAITING...

Waited hundreads of years for My Cinderella; and will wait For more... She may be doing her chore. somewhere... Keeping an eye, outside her door, May be in a rose garden to trim the leaves, While looking for someone with A red rose in hand, May be beside a window pane To find me on horseback, May be dreaming of a magic-boat To get on with me, For a far away island for forever... But Alas! I know not when I will Get bewitched by her... Though I know she is waiting, With a heart; full of sweetest emotion and Honest love for me- like me. ...Lord knows when he will let us meet...

Not in Love!

Why I am not in LOVE? Why? To know the meanings of deprivation? Flirt with adulation? Taste the sweetness of longing? Enjoy the freedom? Experience the destruction of loneliness? Enjoy the unending romance with fantasy? Or really do I?

A few drops of tears…

A few drops of tears shed… few sighs… some sweet memories, some unknown sweet emotions, some unfulfilled dreams have died… But these are not included in the news story. Who cares those petty things? John, a British soldier died in Basra, Iraq on his 24th birthday (bbc.com).Yes! This is the news. How did it happen? It was a bomb. Why it happened? Answer ……..!!! ??? !!! Someone from Britain, knows the answer will bring peace soon! Don't worry!

Living in old Dhaka!

Recently we have bought an apartment in the old part of the city. Some people are not happy for it. But after spending few years, I know what the place can offer! With vibrant and rich cultural heritage, things here will certainly strike your sensory sensitivity and I feel simply great! My father also like it for its unique identity. People like to live in posh areas where living is a matter of prestige. But is that all? Life has things beyond such prestige! Certain dialect, wonderful food and lively lifestyle of old Dhaka will enliven you in such an unromantic city! As far as I know, in most of the cities in the world, old parts carry special significance. In Dhaka, it is also not otherwise. I also like it for the peculiar alleys and sub-alleys where moving requires extra maneuvers!!! But you are welcome indeed to get the real Bangladeshi hospitality (fusion style) with space and ample air at our home! Ha-ha! Welcome to old Dhaka!

Writing for earning!

Dear... please call me after Eid. I am busy writing 4 novels! Answer of a popular (?) writer of the country. What a novelist! Tailoring 4 novels at a time for the coming festival. Writers write and earn money. Nothing to say about that. But I wonder, whether it is possible to write in this way; after taking orders from the customers! Obviously a writer has the ability to attract people. But how he uses it, is the matter. Someone may opt for using it for immediate gain. Someone may use it to entertain his own interest rather than others’. I suppose, keen observers (with their writing ability) are the people who can do wonders not the simple story tellers. It may be possible for someone to take writing as full time profession. But to use the time only for the custom made writing and using the time to get the ingredients for writing must be different! However, a lot of prominent writers of world literature were not writer by profession! Rather doing different things in life added more dim...

Life in a dormitory!

Living with parents is the greatest if hanging around with friends at night (not always indeed!) is permitted. Nothing to worry about food and... Believe me, I got about 5 kg within a couple of days. Sometimes got mild to severe admonition for the chaotic life style though! But that is nothing. I took that as sausage in hot dog! Huh! What that matters now! I am leaving after spending the summer vacation with my parents...and going to start cold war with my cook & company and so on...Any way, having freedom to sleep or eat or read whenever you want is not comparable with missing parents! Is it? I will miss my mom’s kitchen (which is unique in the world) and its tantalizing aroma; dawn to dusk! Alas! What a miss!

How to write a travel story...

A journey by NOSIMON (country of origin; Bangladesh)! Have you traveled across Bangladesh recently? This is something unique in experience. Here goes Nosimon! Kind of indigenous Toyota (yet three wheeler)! And names of some other vehicles; Korimon ,Votvoti etc. These are the motorized version of rickshaw and cycle van which use the engines from tractors and irrigation pumps. Virtually no break, no so-called road-safety! Sometimes you will find 4-5 people in 1.5 foot wooden seat (people aplenty!). These have made the rural Bangladesh bustling (rising from an eternal sleep!)! But once upon a time, travel across Bangladesh meant country boat and the zigzag of railway. Only a few years back, to visit my grandpa, I had to cross a large river. And that was the opportunity for me to have some spicy puffed rice, enjoy watching the fishermen catching fish and appreciate the river...But gone are the days...Most of the large as well as small r...

Trivia!

It seems everything is wrong with me today... The half naked boy was annoying me while I was taking my lunch. Well he was not after something big! Simply the leftover of my lunch. But I got infuriated with him. This is somewhat a known picture in our university campus. Anyway I gave away some food and went to pay the bill. When returning, a heavenly scene caught my attention! The boy was taking the food (only a few spoonfuls) with innocent satisfaction...was looking like the happiest on earth... ...I forgot every bit of my cruel exasperation! Honestly I did!

SHOROLA DEVI: GANDHI'S SWEETHEART...

1901, Graduation ceremony of SHOROLA DEVI. She is posing with her convocation gown on. Look at the photograph!! I can sense why, the saint had fallen in love with this married woman! ...Mr. Rajmohan Gandhi has tried to tell his grandfather’s unknown love story in his recently published book what all his kinsfolk tried to keep under the carpet all through these years. Rajmohan wanted to paint the portrait of a human whom people will love knowing as their own... Actually human being falls in love; not any inhuman! Sometimes the fact becomes more conspicuous. Mahatma Gandhi is often considered to be a demigod not only in India. But importantly he is a human being with human characteristics. After so many years, one such characteristic has come to light. I felt ...somewhat inexpressible about the towering personality’s human side when I had gone through the story for the first time. And when I found the portrait of SHOROLA DEVI, I was thrilled. I felt dumbfounded to see SHOROLA DEVI- ...

Love for library-the frog story!

Our library r oom got a special visitor the other day. Well! it’s a cute! frog. The backyard was inundated after a heavy down pour and the frog took refuge in our library. As raining stopped, it was leaving the library silently (must be enlightened after spending time there!!!), when I discovered it. It is visiting frequently now as the monsoon continues. May be it has also fallen in love with the library(with lots of titles!). But the monsoon visitor is not getting enough hospitality as some people feel frightened to see it-coming and going(though silently!)...

Vacation time…

Yes! Going to my country home for having some fresh air. It’s about 200 km from the capital city. Though it has all the modern amenities of life, it is detached from the eternal chaos like that of the capital Dhaka! To reinvigorate the senses, getting recharged to the fullest and to listen to the silence at night, the place is beautifully perfect. Going to miss lots of seminar like goodies, but hope to catch up soon!

The Diamond tears!

Wish the tears were diamond pieces, which have been shed, when the hearts find their destiny into each other’s, when all the organs but eyes stop functioning, expression finds its way in those tears. Wish we would wear each other’s -bearing the essence of divine pleasure!

A story from real life mythology!

A boy has returned to life with the help of a girl (…work of her magical stick!) after sleeping 19 years under the spell of a…No! Am not telling you any of Hans Andersons’ stories. It’s a story of 80 years old polish boy and his loving wife. Simple and very simple story to understand yet incomprehensible for medical students. By the way, is it a matter of simple conjugal duty to spend time and energy for a husband who is virtually dead for 19 years? Things around you are pushing you to enjoy thyself. But the girl of the story decided to enjoy something different. She didn’t leave her husband for 19 years when the doctors left him… This Polish lived in coma for the last 19 years after an accident and recently returned to consciousness. All through the years she gave all her caring touches to her husband. Sounds part of Eastern mythology! This is beyond mundane understanding, beyond doctors’ probable definition but not mythical as well. This is a piece of real life embedded with human lo...

To do or not to DO- what others think…

I have already consulted with some friends about the situation, created by the mystery girl. Lot of inputs, I have got to think. One of my friends, who is also my classmate said me, “You deserve much better”. Well! I said him, “Do I deserve anyone at all?” And his girl friend said, think about you. If you don’t have any feelings towards the girl, you better not think about it seriously.” Another very special!! friend said, “Do, What you like to do. Don’t what others want you to do”. Certainly the best suggestion I have got. But after all, I have to take my own decision and that’s it…

Bond of Friendship!

Last night I dined with three of my close friends. One asked me why I am not leaving the country as I have some relatives abroad. Certainly a question to think about. Well! Actually I left my country when I was barely one and half years old. Then lived in a foreign country where I was fortunate enough to have some very nice friends. But I had to leave that place and return to my own country when I was 10. Then lived in a small town of my own country with my parents and grand parents for another 10 years. But I had hardly any new friend in the new place. I felt alienated all the time. I had to face severe mental depression for my loneliness. But fortunately I got admitted in a good university in the capital city lately. My creator has given me some very nice friends here and I am really grateful for that. I can say, this is something unique in human experience to enjoy the true friendship. I am happy indeed in this regard...

Fantasy world...

Since my childhood!! I have a longing for a nice romantic relationship. But it remains a dream... But why? Well, I have tried several times to understand girls who might be my Cinderella! But no way! May be I am wrong to try to find someone who does exists only on the silver screen, in the mythical stories or in a kid's(who is not a kid actually!) fantasy ! But who can say, may be I will find someone in the coming days. . .
