Writing for earning!

Dear... please call me after Eid. I am busy writing 4 novels! Answer of a popular (?) writer of the country. What a novelist! Tailoring 4 novels at a time for the coming festival. Writers write and earn money. Nothing to say about that. But I wonder, whether it is possible to write in this way; after taking orders from the customers! Obviously a writer has the ability to attract people. But how he uses it, is the matter. Someone may opt for using it for immediate gain. Someone may use it to entertain his own interest rather than others’. I suppose, keen observers (with their writing ability) are the people who can do wonders not the simple story tellers. It may be possible for someone to take writing as full time profession. But to use the time only for the custom made writing and using the time to get the ingredients for writing must be different! However, a lot of prominent writers of world literature were not writer by profession! Rather doing different things in life added more dim...

Life in a dormitory!

Living with parents is the greatest if hanging around with friends at night (not always indeed!) is permitted. Nothing to worry about food and... Believe me, I got about 5 kg within a couple of days. Sometimes got mild to severe admonition for the chaotic life style though! But that is nothing. I took that as sausage in hot dog! Huh! What that matters now! I am leaving after spending the summer vacation with my parents...and going to start cold war with my cook & company and so on...Any way, having freedom to sleep or eat or read whenever you want is not comparable with missing parents! Is it? I will miss my mom’s kitchen (which is unique in the world) and its tantalizing aroma; dawn to dusk! Alas! What a miss!

How to write a travel story...

A journey by NOSIMON (country of origin; Bangladesh)! Have you traveled across Bangladesh recently? This is something unique in experience. Here goes Nosimon! Kind of indigenous Toyota (yet three wheeler)! And names of some other vehicles; Korimon ,Votvoti etc. These are the motorized version of rickshaw and cycle van which use the engines from tractors and irrigation pumps. Virtually no break, no so-called road-safety! Sometimes you will find 4-5 people in 1.5 foot wooden seat (people aplenty!). These have made the rural Bangladesh bustling (rising from an eternal sleep!)! But once upon a time, travel across Bangladesh meant country boat and the zigzag of railway. Only a few years back, to visit my grandpa, I had to cross a large river. And that was the opportunity for me to have some spicy puffed rice, enjoy watching the fishermen catching fish and appreciate the river...But gone are the days...Most of the large as well as small r...

Trivia!

It seems everything is wrong with me today... The half naked boy was annoying me while I was taking my lunch. Well he was not after something big! Simply the leftover of my lunch. But I got infuriated with him. This is somewhat a known picture in our university campus. Anyway I gave away some food and went to pay the bill. When returning, a heavenly scene caught my attention! The boy was taking the food (only a few spoonfuls) with innocent satisfaction...was looking like the happiest on earth... ...I forgot every bit of my cruel exasperation! Honestly I did!

SHOROLA DEVI: GANDHI'S SWEETHEART...

1901, Graduation ceremony of SHOROLA DEVI. She is posing with her convocation gown on. Look at the photograph!! I can sense why, the saint had fallen in love with this married woman! ...Mr. Rajmohan Gandhi has tried to tell his grandfather’s unknown love story in his recently published book what all his kinsfolk tried to keep under the carpet all through these years. Rajmohan wanted to paint the portrait of a human whom people will love knowing as their own... Actually human being falls in love; not any inhuman! Sometimes the fact becomes more conspicuous. Mahatma Gandhi is often considered to be a demigod not only in India. But importantly he is a human being with human characteristics. After so many years, one such characteristic has come to light. I felt ...somewhat inexpressible about the towering personality’s human side when I had gone through the story for the first time. And when I found the portrait of SHOROLA DEVI, I was thrilled. I felt dumbfounded to see SHOROLA DEVI- ...

Love for library-the frog story!

Our library r oom got a special visitor the other day. Well! it’s a cute! frog. The backyard was inundated after a heavy down pour and the frog took refuge in our library. As raining stopped, it was leaving the library silently (must be enlightened after spending time there!!!), when I discovered it. It is visiting frequently now as the monsoon continues. May be it has also fallen in love with the library(with lots of titles!). But the monsoon visitor is not getting enough hospitality as some people feel frightened to see it-coming and going(though silently!)...
